Bachelor's degree or equivalent. At least 9 years work experience in investment management or financial services with 5 years work experience in an industry-related compliance role. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, customer-service, team-working and problem- solving skills. Must fluently read, write and speak English. Ability to read, write and speak Chinese (Mandarin) is an advantage. Proven ability to develop and foster strong interpersonal relationships and to maintain effective cross- functional teams throughout the organization. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with outside parties at all organizational levels. Assume ownership for the delivery of projects while also operating successfully in a cross-functional, international, team environment. Proven analytical skills. Make independent decisions, develop creative solutions to problems, advocate for same and manage the implementation through to acceptance. Must effectively drive solutions throughout the organization and present ideas in an effective, non- confrontational manner. Escalate issues and advocate for solutions. Strong working knowledge of applicable investment management operations and advisory functions is required. Significant prior exposure to investment management operations and its related rules and regulations in Singapore is required as is significant direct experience in a compliance-related function. Thorough understanding of business operations and practices, procedures and controls specific to the business units supported is required. Strong presentation skills with the ability to present comfortably before large groups (40+). Full awareness of best practices and evolving issues within scope of the position and able to relate same to MFS' operations and practices. Represent MFS at meetings, conferences or related industry events. Participate directly with regulators on an on-going basis and during examinations. Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to analyze operational effectiveness are required. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to develop proficiency in MFS systems as required to perform the duties of this position. Ability to conduct research utilizing available technology is required. Must be able to work overtime as necessary to keep current with work and to work outside of local hours in order to work with international offices. Some periodic travel is required.
