* Main Purpose: To understand the product standards and requirements during commercialization. To approve all incoming leathers. To approve other materials and components when factory highlights issues. To monitor the process to maintain the Brand standards. To inspect a percentage of all finished orders and ensure they meet the Brands expectations. To do a comparative fit on adult shoes. To maintain records and reports relating to the above and issue to relevant person’s. To work with the factory to resolve any issues. To be aware of what orders are due to be shipped and of any issues likely to delay orders. * Core Accountabilities: ·To ensure the commercialization meetings held in Vietnam are conducted professionally in order to maximise the effectiveness of the Clarks China Development technicians. ·Attend commercialization meetings with Technicians from Clark’s China, Factory and production to ensure that any issues which arise from these meetings are followed up once the shoes go to production. ·Make sure all leathers arriving meet Clark’s standards. ·Make commercial decisions on any materials and components where the factory is unsure. ·Check production lines to make sure methods and settings are to Clark’s standards. ·Check product at the end of each assembly line to ensure they match confirmation shoes. ·Check lab testing results daily to ensure correct action is taken. ·Attend daily fit test on adult products. ·Inspect all finished orders. ·Work towards eliminating the need for re-control and reducing the requirement to inspect all orders. ·All first bulk work is checked to ensure any issues from commercialization meetings have been addressed and shoes are made to spec. ·After the factory has sorted every delivery of leather and done specified checks. Ensure that the leather is commercially acceptable against the supplied standards for Article, Colour, Substance and Laboratory testing. Inform line Manager and QC Manager of any rejected leather. ·On components and materials where the factory feels they do not meet the Clark’s standards. Check them against Development provided standards where not commercial refer them to line Manager. ·Everyday (Unless inspection requirements prevent) check each assembly line ensuring that Clark’s approved methods, temperature settings and Dwell times are correct using the supplied process check sheets. Fill in and file the process check sheets by line. Twice weekly carry out the same task in Cutting, Stitching and stock fitting areas. Work with the line supervisor and factory QC department to resolve any issues. Inform line Manager of any serious issues requiring production to be stopped. ·Twice daily compare the finished product at the end of the assembly lines to the confirmation shoes supplied to ensure that the production is commercial. Work with the line supervisor and factory QC department to resolve any issues. Inform line Manager and QC Manager of any serious issues requiring production to be stopped. ·Each morning check the laboratory reports to ensure factory is taking corrective action where required. Inform line Manager and QC Manager of any serious issues requiring production to be stopped or shoes rejected. * Essential Knowledge: Excellent understanding & communication of the English language. Understanding of the incoming leather and materials checking procedure and level of decision making expected. Understanding of the commercialization process. A working knowledge of the process control procedure and application. An understanding of the daily Lab testing requirements and reports. A basic understanding of the fitting process. Basic understanding of computer usage, email, excel, word. Ability to communicate effectively with different levels within the factory and Brand. *Technical Skills: A broad knowledge of footwear materials, components and constructions, together with an appreciation of associated problems. A detailed knowledge of Clarks Brand standards and their application across all genders and all parts of the business An experiences eye for detail in relation to good shoemaking practice, and the ability to apply a good commercial judgement of acceptable Quality standards * Successful Experience: ·Several years experience within a shoe factory environment. ·Several years hands on Quality processes / systems experience either at factory or QC function level.
