Jobs Description

1.Dispense Medication for patients, in accordance with the prescription of medical doctors, after checking if the prescription complies with the standard guidelines and after discussion with pharmacists. 2.Collect the daily prescriptions from each unit and provide a 24-hour supply of prescribed drugs. 3.Explain to patient’s parents or caretakers how to take medicines including the correct dose and time. Ensure parents and caretakers understand all information about the medications they receive. 4.Issue stocks of medicines to wards and departments and participate in the ward re-stocking service. 5.Explain ARV medication instructions to new HIV patients in home care. 6.Routine stock checking each month and ensuring correct stock rotations. 7.Fill in paperwork in accordance with departmental procedures. 8.Input and maintain data on the Pharmacy computer system including daily and monthly reports of consumption of dispensed drugs. 9.Pre-package the supply of frequently used medicines for out-patients 10.Preparation of Suspensions, GV, Betadine, alcohol 70% and alcohol hand rub and chemotherapy drugs. 11.Update and stock operating theatre boxes 12.Help maintain a tidy, organised, and hygienic working area that is free from pests, and ensure that temperature is controlled by the air conditioning so that it never rises above 25 degrees Celsius. 13.Commit to work assigned schedule by department head including at Satellite clinic in Sotnikum and night shift.

Educational responsibilities 1.Keep the medical staff informed of any new developments in the pharmacy field. 2.Join pharmacy lunch talk and continuing medical education sessions that are relevant. Requirements: 1.Certificate of pharmacy assistant and associate degree of nursing or higher, which is recognized by Ministry of Health. 2.Willing to learn and improve knowledge. 3.Flexible regarding working hours and able to work day and night shift. 4.Ability to build good inter-personal relationships. 5.Good command of English and Khmer both written and spoken. 6.Computer literacy including ability to use MS Word and Excel. 7.Able to work in a team environment involving different departments and able to work in any units at the hospital in Siem Reap and at Satellite clinic at Sotnikum (transportation is provided). 8.Be enthusiastic and hard working. 9.Be honest and trustworthy.
