Jobs Description

- Engage with Government Ministries and Department:s, - Support LIFT's increasing work with Parliamentarians, and - Manage key policy events and workshops and support FMO policy work. - In support of LIFT's policy engagement objectives and activities, co-ordinate and liaise with Ministries and Department:s that are key to LIFT's work. - Communicate LIFT's policy priorities and relevant programming activities to Ministries and departments. - Represent LIFT in relevant national and sub-national policy events and networks, such as official meetings and workshops, and report out as necessary. - Maintain regular contact with other LIFT-supported policy initiatives such as the Agriculture Policy Unit. - Provide regular updates to LIFT FMO and Fund Board members on relevant policy developments in Nay Pyi Taw and elsewhere. - Help identify opportunities and effective strategies for constructive policy engagement; - Build and maintain strong networks, both formal and informal, with relevant government staff. - Provide Parliamentarians with information concerning policy issues of direct concern to LIFT and its implementing and strategic partners. - Establish and maintain relationships with relevant parliamentary committees and individuals. - Organize and support meetings and other events involving Parliamentary committees and individuals and LIFT staff and partners. - Represent LIFT in (other) development partner engagements with Parliamentary Committees and individuals, and report out as necessary. - Identify key learning opportunities from LIFT's portfolio of projects; Help design and organize activities to share key lessons. - Organize LIFT policy events and activities including workshops and roundtable discussions. - Support the development and dissemination of LIFT policy briefs and position papers in areas relevant to LIFT programming. - Ensure LIFT-supported policy events are well-documented and that information is disseminated internally and externally, as appropriate. - Support LIFT's collaboration with development partners, NGOs, civil society organizations, including LIFT IPs, and other stakeholders in ongoing policy dialogue and advocacy. - Advise and support the LIFT FMO and Fund Board members as needed on policy developments and advocacy. - Provide policy inputs for the preparation of LIFT's annual and semi-annual reports as well as other updates as required.

Jobs Requirement

- A Master's degree in public policy or administration, or a related development field is required. - A Bachelor's degree in combination with additional 2 years of similar experience is considered as equivalent. - A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in policy engagement with national government institutions in Myanmar is required; - Demonstrated knowledge and experience of policy design, implementation, and monitoring in Myanmar is required; - Strong policy analysis skills and experience in operational and formative research is a clear advantage; - Experience working with donor agencies and local partners, including civil society organizations is preferred; - Experience working with sub-national government institutions in Myanmar is also preferred; - Computer literacy in Microsoft packages (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access) is strongly preferred. - Fluency in both written and spoken English and Myanmar
